Assesment and Treatment

Our Treatment Philosophy
Mulidimensional

Our treatment approach is firmly rooted in the belief that human experience and behavior emerges as a result of the dynamic interaction between the body, the person, the social environment, and the spiritual dimension.  You can see the importance we place on these relationships reflected in the interconnectedness represented in our logo.

Likewise, the interrelatedness of biology, psychology, sociology, and spirituality dimensions forms the foundation of our understanding of addiction and our approach to its treatment.

We believe that addiction is a chronic medical disorder that responds best when treated with medications combined with non-pharmacological treatments such as education, self help, and, if indicated, individual, group, and/or family counseling.

As we work together toward the shared goal of your abstinence, it is paramount to us that you always feel treated with the dignity and respect you deserve.

Suboxone Treatment Program

Suboxone and Subutex are medications approved for the treatment of opiate dependence. Both medicines contain the active ingredient, buprenorphine hydrochloride, which works to reduce the symptoms of opiate dependence.

Thanks to the Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000 and the development efforts of Reckitt Benckiser Pharmaceuticals, physicians now have the ability to safely and conveniently treat opioid dependence in the office-based setting.

As part of our mission to the comprehensive treatment of addicts and their families, NeuroBehavioral Recovery   now offers treatment with Suboxone, (brand of buprenorphine/naloxone), at our Hicks Road facility in Rolling Meadows.

We have combined decades of experience in addictions with our skills in clinical management to provide a dynamic treatment process that fits into the patient’s  life as it enables their recovery.

By leveraging our expertise in the integration of technological solutions with the clinical process, we provide you with the knowledge and information you need to continue directing the overall treatment of your patient.

Recovery...in the Office!

Induction

The startup is the most labor intensive and clinically challenging phase pf buprenorphine treatment. Beginning with the patient in a mild state of withdrawal, the dosage is titrated in the office over a one to three day period.

Stabilization

Once a patient has discontinued the drug of abuse, when cravings have disappeared, and side effects are gone, the stabilization phase has begun. Further dosage adjustment and a move to alternate day dosing may occur during this several week period.

Maintenance

The maintenance phase is reached when the patient is doing well on a steady dose of Suboxone, (buprenorphine/naloxone). The length of time of the maintenance phase is individualized for each patient and may be indefinite.

Supervised Withdrawal

The alternative to going into (or continuing) a maintenance phase, once stabilization has been achieved, is medically supervised withdrawal. This takes the place of what was formerly called “detoxification.”
